Megan Simmons unites creativity and organization within design projects of all sizes. Her attention to detail consistently produces clean, compelling graphics, which powerfully and effectively render even the most challenging communication tasks. Born and raised in Montana, Megan studied fine arts at the University of Montana, before earning a degree in Visual Communications in 1993 from the Art Institute of Seattle. A second degree in cabinet-making at Seattle’s Wood Construction Center later sparked the launch her own furniture design and art studio. Megan has worked as a graphic designer for over 20 years, in both an independent capacity, and for large companies. She has formulated web design for FreeRange Media, and designed software and online billing for Microsoft. Early on, Megan worked for Sun Sportswear, where she served as art director and design liaison with the Walt Disney Company. Her creative success with M C Simmons Design, launched in 2006, embodies the lion’s share of the work of which she is most proud. As a Seattlite since 1991, and a West Seattle resident since 2000, Megan has been regularly involved in her community. She started volunteering for WestSide Baby in 2005, which collects and distribute essentials for local children in need. In addition to donating her design talents to all of WestSide Baby’s marketing requirements, Megan joined their Board of Directors in 2006, and is now the current Board President. She also volunteers her creative skills at her children’s school, while supporting various other local projects, such as layout for the Sanislo Elementary student-produced annual newspaper. Whether she is working independently, or coordinating with a team of professionals, Megan excels at using color, shape, and typography to bring out the personality of a client, company or event.
